Crane Cricket Club

Jazzy B Tribute

It is with deep sadness and fond memory that we commemorate the passing of our very dear friend, Jasbir (Jaz) Bains.

On the morning of Friday 5th May 2006, Jaz fell victim to his illness, which he battled bravely and admirably for more than ten years.

Affectionately known to his pals as Jazzy B, Jaz was our number one Crane cricket fan and a committed member since the club was founded. When he eventually could not play he would always turn up to support the team, regularly doing the scorebook both at home and away fixtures. He has been a friend to many of us even before Crane, going back to Cranford school days.

We, his friends, are touched by the courage Jaz exuded during his most difficult times. We will all remember him for his virtues of big-heartedness and honesty, and for never failing to deliver upon his word. We will always remind ourselves that in his test of life he did not fail, but passed with flying colours. Most of all we will never forget the friendship he gave us, and left in our lives.

Jasbir Bains (
1st August 1961 – 5th May 2006), rest in peace.
