Match report After last weeks result, Crane came to the green fields and trees of Reading in jubilant spirits.
Crane lost the toss and the opposition captain without hesitation elected to bat on what looked liked an out & out batting track.

Crane's opening seam attack didn't posses the fire that was needed to make the early breakthrough and Prestcold got of to a racing start. The spinners came on early and even though both Romy and Sanjeev bowled well, they too couldn't make inroads. Sanjeev again bowled well conceding only 35 runs of his 8 overs.

The Prestcold opening batsman destroyed the Crane attack with some superb batting smashing the ball to every corner of the park. They scored an humongous 298 of their allotted 40 overs and incredibly never lost a wicket. The opening batsman King made 156 not out and his partner Rosier made 106 not out, with extras being 36.

A weary and demoralised Crane team came of the pitch. The game was all but lost with Crane needing 7.5 overs from the off to stay in the running. Crane's one goal was not to embarrass themselves.

After losing early wickets through some tired looking and aggressive batting (which was needed), and due to a long hot day in the field Crane were starring down the barrel of a massive defeat.

Then in came Jim. Steady as he goes and Solid as a rock, Mr Dependable. What more can be said, he batted beautifully with some aggressive stroke play and with Gujit and Sunny in tow, he went to his maiden century and took Crane to a respectable 218 for 8 of their allotted 40 overs. A great end to a very one sided game.

As for Crane, we have to make sure that last week was not just a winning blip.
