Match report Another exciting game on the weekend against Putney.

Crane stand in skipper Anoop having won the toss elected to field first on what was a damp and slow wicket.

An excellent start by the opening bowling pair of Sunny and Mittal, with Sunny taking a wicket with the very first ball of the game.

Mittal contributed from the other end forcing an edge to be taken superbly with a quick reflex catch by Amo in the slips.

On came the "Triplets of Spin" Sanj, Romy and Kam to decimate the middle and lower order with some excellent spin bowling on what was undoubtably a spinners wicket, supported by catches being taken in the field by Daljit, Amo and behind the stumps by Anoop.

All in all an excellent fielding display, with every ball being chased down, capped by some superb run outs from Sunny and Aussie.

Keeping the home team down to 86 all out after just 33 overs left Crane feeling quietly confident going into Tea.

The Crane reply started superbly with Aussie taking command at the crease. An lbw decision for Romy did not stop the momentum with Amo coming in to join Aussie at the crease. At middway drinks (20 overs) Aussie and Amo had guided Crane into a secure position of 49 for 1 wicket. With just 48 further runs required with ample wickets in hand.

Some excellent bowling changes by the Putney captain saw them resort to some spin and turn the game back onto it's head with the wickets starting to fall at 56, 62, 62, 78, 80, 81 and 84. Putney bowler Willow taking 5 wickets during an excellent spell.

Down to the last wicket stand with 3 runs still required Kam and Sanj at the crease. Kam places an exquisite extra cover drive and Sanj shouts "two", running it comfortably in the end.

With the match now on a draw Kam fires a shot to square leg and Sanj shouts "Run" and you have never seen Sanj and Kam run so fast in their life between wickets running making a very tight single to finally win the match by 1 wicket victory.

An excellent game that again had everything from some great bowling and fielding to desperation and anxiety. Well Done Crane for getting through.
