Match report Crane travelled to Maidenhead to Boyne Hill for the second in the season….the last game for 2008 season…What a close game it was!!!

It was a wonderful day for cricket, a little wet and an early start…The wicket looked great for some serious pace bowling…

The skip won the toss and decided to bowl first…

Mitul and Hardeep opened the bowling. Both bowled with pace and speed. The ball moved and bounced all over the place, but both bowlers didn’t pick up a wicket. Mitul finished with 5 overs for 17 and Hardeep 2 for 13 runs only.

Skipper needed get some wickets, so a change of pace, on came Ranjit and Amo, who were unlucky not to pick up any wickets and got hit around the ground.

Boundaries kept on coming; Crane’s fielding was okay, some sore heads from the night before!!!!!
Gurjit came and to stem the runs, but clocked 4 runs and over with one wicket. Aranjit and Sanjit bowled well. Only real high point was Bob’s wonderful run out.

Boyne Hill continued scoring heavily and ended up with 200 for 2 from 35 overs.

Crane’s turn to bat…

In came Chaz and Bob...batting was not easy at all at the crease….both openers found it hard to score. Chaz falling for 11 and Bob for 12.
In came Gurjit and Zahir, who tried to score quickly and continue his tremendous form…but fell for 5. Gurjit however, continued to keep the run chase alive, with a great 55.

Which way will the game go? Can Crane can do this…plenty of time and overs……
Wickets kept falling at regular intervals, with most batsmen contributing something towards the chase…

With a few overs left. It was left to Amo and Ranjit with the run chase. Both batsmen hit some massive fours…and with only needed 9 needed of the last over for victory, they were not able to fire Crane home to victory…Crane ended up with 196 for 9.

Crane lost by 4 runs...but, a great game of cricket and thanks for the Game to Boyne Hill.
