Match report Crane travelled down to Ashford to play Ashford CC, on Saturday.

The weather was hot and sunny, the wicket was excellent, Can the skip win the toss?

Skip called correct and decided to have a bat. What a great decision it turned out to be!!!!!

Akshey and Gurjit opened the batting for Crane. Both openers started positively and scored at a reasonable rate.
Ashford bowler’s tried to mix up the bowling, but to no success. Crane reached 75 runs in the 17th over.
Gurjit tried a big shot and was caught for 36. In came in Sanjit, who hit some great blow and was caught at mid on, playing an impossible shot for 16.

Akshey continued to build the innings and Crane reached 109 for 2 in the 22nd over, when Akshey was joined by Zahir.

Ashford tried spin and medium pace, but Akshey and Zahir continued to score freely and quickly reached 163 runs in the 30th over.

Akshey got his 50 and looked in great shape to get a huge score. Zahir continued where he left of from last week with a great fifty for Crane, the first…. and ended up with 56 not out…Well Done mate……8 fours..

Akshey continued to score and reached the magic 100 for Crane and ended up with 108 not out….Well Done…excellent innings, great display of shots and patience….19 fours….

Crane ended up with 242 for 2 off 35 ?? overs only……

In came in Ashford’s opening bats…Mitul and Hardeep opened the bowling…

Mitul bowled with the usual length and speed for the first 3 overs, only conceding 7 runs and then went in another zone…conceding too many…Hardeep bowled with swing and pace, picking up the opener. Hardeep only conceding 3 runs in 3 overs.

Wickets kept on falling at regular intervals and Ashford continued falling behind the run rate.
Gurjit and Sanjit turn to bowl, Gurjit picked up 3 for 8 runs in 2 overs. Ashford finally reached 75 runs in the 20th over, but the asking rate was too much.

Mitul and Zahir both picked up 2 catches each, Mitul with the magic glove on, the one Michael Jackson wears….it did the job!!!!
Aranjit and A both picked up 2 wickets with a great display of swing, temptations and max factors..Well done..
Kam bowled 8 overs for 1 wicket and a great run out from ???

Ashford eventually out for 138 and Crane wining by 104 runs…

Great display of batting, bowling and fielding by the whole team..
