Match report
The second game on Tour was to the very convex ground of Shaldon CC. Lying on the opposite bank of the Teign to Teignmouth, Shaldon is a picturesque waterside village, which has managed to retain its original charm.

Due to difficult circumstances, Shaldon understandably on the day didn’t have a full squad so a special thanks to Jim, Kam and Ranjit who volunteered to play for the opposition. Vice-skipper Amo once again carried-out the task of marshalling our Crane troops.

Batting first again, Crane got off to another woeful start and were deep in trouble at 25 for 5 after 8 overs. Nik soon found his centre of curvature and, with ‘point of convergence’ placement with his batting, helped Crane out of trouble scoring a brilliant 44 (which included 10 fours). Mitul, continuing his fine form, upped the tempo with a powerful 60 (which included 9 fours and 2 sixes) and helped Crane to an impressive 211 off the allotted 40 overs.

Chasing a mammoth score to win, Shaldon started very steadily but soon were behind the run-rate. All of the Crane bowlers bowled well skittling Shaldon out for 115 runs in the 31st over. Their top score of 39 all came from Extras.

A fun day out for all. Well done to Shaldon for a gritty performance. Also a special mention & thanks to James from Shaldon CC for his great hospitality as he specially arranged snacks at the pub for us after the match. Much appreciated.

For the record, the Duck Hat firstly went to Zubin then Bob Atwal but finally belonged to Kam on this day & the ‘Thanks for Coming’ t-shirt went to Zubin.
